A few days back I had a brief chat with my brother concerning about Queen Elizabeth. We all think that she's just merely an icon. I have always thought it was the same case with the Sultans in our country. But the recent happening in Terengganu suggest otherwise. The ruler have clearly refused to take the advice of the prime minister. Datuk Ahmad Said was appointed menteri besar while Datk Seri Idris Jusoh, who even had the backing of 22 assemblymen, had to step down from his previous post. I might not know much about the political climate at the East Coast, but I am glad to see our rulers exercise their rights. He could have sat in his throne comfortably, yet he took a bold step in going against the government's preference and decided that the state needed a new leadership eventhough BN retained its governing rights. Let's continue to pray for our country's leaders.
I myself is going to visit that state for the first time in my life coming April. This year also happens to be Visit Terrenganu 2008 and rumours has it that their islands are prettier than Sabah islands. Pulau Redang here I come! :D
