This movie did not garner much praise from top critics, most of them citing the loopholes in the plot and the nothing much to carry the suspense throughout. But as for me, it got me quite anxious throughout. As a movie-goer, I want to be challenged intellectually when I watch a movie, not just for the sake of pure entertainment. Awake has its twists in it, and reflective moments too. I'd say its quite successful for a debut production by writer/director Joby Harold.
This movie not only brought me to understand the 'terror' of medical accidents, I've also come to know that in the world we're living in, there's all sorts of people. People who would exchange love for money, and people who would exchange money for love. I believe that we can only put our trust in God as we socialize with people. You never know that you might just be the one who 'betrayed' another person.
