GOD's love

Good morning.
It's Good Friday.
It's Great Friday.
It's Holy Friday.

These are just some of the names of today when it's translated into English. A direct translation from Mandarin is 'Day of Suffering'. Indeed today was the day when Jesus suffered and died on the cross for us. Though in West Malaysia is unlike many countries in the world, which commemorates Christ's crucifixion by declaring the Friday before Easter Sunday as a public holiday, there are still plenty of ways to remind us of what Jesus had done on the cross for us.

For me, as a sinner, I am so thankful for today. That Jesus was willing to die for my sins. It is only through that very event that I might be able to fully comprehend and experience the feeling of being forgiven, of being pure again. It was also the day when Christ won the war by losing a battle. I still remember a scene from 'The Passion of Christ' whereby the devil shouts as he realises he's been defeated.

Here's a great hymn by Isaac Watts. After 3 centuries, it still bears great effect on the listener's heart and soul.

When I survey the wondrous cross,
On which the Prince of Glory died,
My richest gain I count but loss,
And pour contempt on all my pride.

Forbid it, Lord, that I should boast,
Save in the death of Christ my God,
All the vain things that charm me most,
I sacrifice them to His blood.

See from His head, His hands, His feet,
Sorrow and love flow mingled down,
Did e'er such love and sorrow meet,
Or thorns compose so rich a crown?

His dying crimson, like a robe,
Spreads o'er His body on the tree;
Then I am dead to all the globe,
And all the globe is dead to me.

Were the whole realm of nature mine,
That were a present far too small;
Love so amazing, so divine,
Demands my soul, my life, my all.

The greatest exchange has been made on that day. His life for our sins. Did you make your exhange for eternity?
